The left side area are vacant lots. All the houses there are blown away and swept towards the sea by hurricane Katrina.
This house is newly constructed. If you click the picture, you will see the red old fence of the house and nearby the tree is their old stairway, the only part of the house that was left after the hurricane.
This is the right side view. White sand and long beach extending from the Front Beach area to East Beach.
Just taking the picture of the left side view of the beach. Yep! It is not really an open space. All these properties had big houses but all gone because of hurricane Katrina. The house that you see in this picture is a newly constructed.
The water surge in this area during the hurricane is 35+ feet high.
Click the picture and you will see only the gate of the property. All else are gone.

That is the bridge connecting to Ocean Springs and Biloxi Mississippi. That bridge is also US highway 90 and it would take you towards New Orleans heading to the East.
The building shown above is The Isle Hotel and Casino and The Palace Hotel.
